Abstract:
Using measurements and questionnaires, the current study examined the relationship between parental psychological control and problematic smartphone use and explored the impact of psychological security and insomnia on this relationship in early adolescence. The results indicated reciprocal relationship between parental psychological control and smartphone addiction severity in early adolescence. Both psychological security and insomnia mediate the link between parental psychological control and subsequent smartphone addiction.
