Abstract:
The article examines the impact of profitability on the decision on the capital structure of US multinational and domestic corporations. The results show that the relationship between the profitability of multinational corporations (MNCs) and their leverage ratios is U-shaped and non-linear, while no such non-linear relationship exists for domestic firms (NCs).
