Abstract:
The article compares the sustainability reporting practices of family-owned companies with those of their non-family counterparts and examines whether the former, owned by billionaires, differ in sustainability reporting compared to their peers. The results show that there is more focus on sustainability on corporate websites when the CEO of a family company is a family member and the level of family ownership is lower.
