Abstract:
The paper attempts to test intra-urban house price convergence using composite suburban house price and census data for a key Australian city. Evidence is also provided for housing price convergence when the econometric model takes into account spatial effects and some other characteristics of the suburbs, such as population, economic profile, education and employment profile, and crime rates. The results show that the rate of convergence slows down in periods after the GFC.
