Abstract:
The article examines the age profile of basic satisfaction, that is, the level of general satisfaction with life after excluding the influence of socio-economic factors. The results show that baseline satisfaction is U-shaped by age with the lowest point between the ages of 30 and 40, that the effect of income is greatest between the ages of 30 and 40, and that the effect of having a satisfactory spouse is the largest at the age of about thirty. These results highlight the importance of a baseline satisfaction survey for understanding overall overall life satisfaction, which includes the influence of all socioeconomic factors, since baseline affects overall level through its effect on behavior.
