Abstract:
The article discusses modern research to ensure the compatibility of polymers using the functionalization of polymers, especially for thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers. The article further investigates the effectiveness of functionalization to improve the properties of building materials. The results show that functionalization of polymers by adding various functional groups to their surface can improve the compatibility of polymers and building materials such as bitumen and concrete. Also, the efficiency of polymer functionalization is highly dependent on the grafting material, the degree of grafting, and the architecture of the polymer structure after functionalization.
