Abstract:
The article analyzes the impact of the slave trade and its impact on contemporary violence in sub-Saharan Africa. The study is based on examining geo-coded data and differences in the intensity of the slave trade within the country. The results show the relationship between slave exports and contemporary conflicts; the slave trade has a long-term impact on inter-ethnic conflicts and, in particular, unrest.
