Abstract:
Abstract
Background: With the proliferation of educational institutions transitioning to online instructional formats, it becomes increasingly imperative to explore the tools and methods capable of enhancing the quality and efficacy of this process.
Objectives: This study aims to analyze the impact of demographic and professional characteristics of instructors on their perception of the quality of online education using Power BI, as well as to assess the effectiveness of Power BI in enhancing student motivation and engagement.
Methods: Educators underwent training in educational analytics utilizing Microsoft Power BI. Subsequently, within their educational institutions, они перевели половину своих онлайн-групп to analytics facilitated by Power BI, while the other half continued their studies utilising traditional analytics. Educators underwent surveying utilising the Online Education Quality Assessment Scale employing Power BI. To evaluate student motivation and engagement, the Motivation and Engagement Scale was employed.
Results and Conclusions: The sex of educators exerts a statistically significant influence on the assessment of the quality of online education utilising Power BI, with males rating this tool more highly compared to females. No statistically significant effects were detected for other variables (age, work experience, place of work). Intervention group students testing Power BI reported increases in Adaptive Behaviour and Adaptive Cognition compared to the control group. The findings of this study may aid educational institutions and educators in comprehending how the utilisation of educational analytics via Power BI may impact the quality of online education.
