Abstract:
Using a theory of change approach, we reviewed a chemical engineering curriculum and established short and long-term plans on how to create a less burdensome, student-centred curriculum that incorporates our institutional learning and teaching strategy. At the heart of our curriculum review is the student experience. First, we collected useful evidence from students which was then analysed to determine a sensible set of intermediate outputs that can support student learning. Once the outcomes were determined, students were asked to elaborate on how those outcomes could be achieved.
