Abstract:
We analyse 465 articles published in EIST from June 20XX until June 20XX to identify topics addressed in the journal. We find eight main topics and assess how their shares changed over time as well as how many citations they received. The topics with the largest shares in all publications are “Theory of socio-technical transitions” and “Urban regimes and niches”. The two most cited topics, “Theory of socio-technical transitions” and “Geography and diffusion of eco-innovations”, showed a rising share over time, while the share of topic “Finance, investment and growth” declined. We further assess the geographical coverage of topics, through affiliations of the corresponding authors. The resulting map indicates dominant topics for the 34 countries that contributed to publications in EIST.
