Abstract:
The problem of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most important psychological problem of the civilized world, with 5% to 30% of all school-age children affected by attention disorders, meaning there are at least 2-3 such children in each class of an average school. These children struggle to learn the curriculum and often exhibit disruptive behavior in the classroom, often characterized by deviant tendencies and face pronounced difficulties in interaction with peers and adults. One of the primary and most effective ways to help a child with ADHD in Russia is neuropsychological remediation. To identify the possible medical and psychological impact of remediation for the treatment and prevention of ADHD, a detailed study was conducted, which qualitatively and quantitatively assesses the effect of remediation on the dynamics of longitudinal neuropsychological observation. In addition, a comparative analysis of regression of cognitive, regulatory and neurodynamic defects following and absent neuropsychological remediation was carried out. This Chapter describes the importance of the neuropsychological approach for the treatment and prevention of ADHD, as well as the importance of its early application.
