Abstract:
Student intentions to pursue and major in a specific discipline in the future, as well as their behavioural engagement, and subject-specific performance, are predicted by a multitude of demographic, contextual, cognitive, and noncognitive factors, such as attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control belief. The current study uses the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) to explain high school students’ performance in large-scale assessment data.
