Abstract:
In this study, we assessed the association between material hardship (i.e., difficulty meeting basic needs) and PTSD symptoms among low-income women. We explored several potential explanations for this association, such as higher levels of trauma exposure (in this case, poverty itself may represent a traumatic stressor) and less access to social support.
