Abstract:
Studies show that chlorine dioxide is effective against Covid-19 and it may be a better option than other disinfectants like sodium hypochlorite. Hence, it is only natural that many shifted towards it. On the back of available research highlighting the benefits of this chemical, lots of companies have started selling ClO2-containing products with false promises that it can cure or prevent the infection. At the same time, the use of chlorine dioxide raises specific concerns related to its potential toxicity. This study aims to determine the role of chlorine dioxide in the treatment of Covid-19 patients, as well as its potential usefulness and hidden pitfalls.
