Abstract:
Bacillus spp. can be used as probiotics for humans and in veterinary medicine. Even though they were reported to have beneficial effects, many questions have been raised regarding their safety and the relevance of spore formation in practical application. Here, we highlight the benefits and concerns related to spore-forming probiotics.
