Abstract:
The study discusses the phenomenon of virtual magic schools created by fans for fans in terms of student motivation, fan interaction, social and personal value. We also look into their role in personality development and social bonding inside and outside of the virtual classroom setting from the subjective perspective of students and teachers involved in virtual magic school projects. Using an interview method, we determined the role of online magic schools in the lives of participating individuals and the range of skills they aquired while participating in fan-initiated events. With the help of website metrics, we determined the levels of engagement with the projects. The paper offers an explanation for the rise of virtual magic schools and provides a hypothesis regarding their fall. We suggest that magic school experience can help instructional coordinators improve interactive education programs for children and teaching staff.
