Abstract:
We examine whether methylene tetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene polymorphism C677T and homocysteine level are risk factors for coronary heart disease in patients with androgenetic alopecia. The results prove that androgenetic alopecia is linked to a higher risk of CHD development due to the associated higher homocysteine level, which , in turn, correlates with mutant MTHFR genotypes.
