Abstract:
This study examines how uncertainty about the involvement of certain drugs in overdose mortality affects the future response to drug overdose. We also estimate the predicted probability of their involvement in unspecified overdose cases to determine the likely shape of previously unclassified fatal overdoses. We show how this knowledge can be used to improve the overdose prevention efforts.
