Abstract:
This paper identifies the effect of sex hormones on stimulant consumption in females. It is a systematic review of papers about adult female humans using stimulant drugs, with sex hormones administered exogenously and measured in a validated manner, and stimulant consumption as an outcome measure. Consistent preclinical evidence supported progesterone use reducing stimulant consumption, which was also identified in one clinical study.
