Abstract:
We investigate the (bio)psychological mechanisms behind the online addictive behaviours with a focus on craving, executive functions and specific inhibitory control, coping, and decision making. The study involves a battery of experimental paradigms, neuropsychological tasks, questionnaires, biomarkers, ambulatory assessment, and a follow-up survey. We also show which mechanisms may be addressed more intensively to optimize treatment.
