Abstract:
The present study investigated the problem of a large slab on a Winkler-type foundation subjected to a circular load. The slab is modeled as a ductile Kirchhoff plate and obeys Rankine’s yield criterion with associative flow rule. A circular uniform load is applied onto the top of the plate. As the load increases, the radial cracks occur and spread out at the bottom of the slab.
