Abstract:
A compact, low loss microstrip ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) with a narrow notch band is proposed in this article for using wireless communication applications within the unlicensed UWB range reported by the Federal Communications Commission. A systematic approach is presented to establish the UWB-BPF structure followed by a narrow notch within it. The UWB-BPF response is achieved by integrating a defected structures-based lowpass filter and a short-stepped impedance stub-based highpass filter.
