Abstract:
Directional synthesis of hydrocarbon fuels using metabolic engineering injects fresh blood into alleviating energy shortage and environmental pollution problems due to its sustainability. Farnesane, a terpenoid multi-branched iso-paraffin derived from sugarcane through metabolic engineering, is expected to be an excellent alternative fuel attracting widespread attention. In this work, the pyrolysis behavior of farnesane was investigated in a tandem ?-reactor equipped with an online GC-MS/FID detection system under pressures of 0.1 and 2.0 MPa and temperature of 773–998 K.
