Abstract:
The paper examines the impact of the knowledge economy on the education sector, analyzes the most prestigious international university rankings, their criteria and methodologies. Against the background of theoretical developments, the importance of the intellectual capital of the university and its ability to increase competitive advantages are considered. The paper considers the possibility of using the mechanism for managing the intellectual capital of universities in the knowledge economy, which provides the overall effect of all components of intellectual capital.
