Abstract:
In a short time, there has been both quantitative and qualitative growth of social networks, which have become a common occurrence in our life and the dominant way of communication of social groups in the Internet space. The study is devoted to the issues of the emergence and development of social networks, their classification according to their main functions is presented, and the characteristics of the main opportunities that they provide to the information society are revealed and given. The study assesses the popularity of social networks, analyzes the motives of users visiting social networks, and analyzes the development and causes of social network failures.
