Abstract:
The article is devoted to the phenomenon of Chinese cinephilia (lapian), which is a professional analysis of films with an emphasis on the study of textual and intertextual details of cinematic performance. In this way, the participation of the mass of amateurs in the film culture of China is expressed. The origin of lapian can be seen from the work of the Beijing Film Academy from the late 60s of the 20th century. It is now developing on the basis of platforms on the Internet (social networking sites). Lapian is characterized by the blurring of distinctions between professional scientists and critics and amateurs, and the spawning of a competitive discourse devoid of elitism.
