Abstract:
The article states that foreign subsidiaries of multinational enterprises (MNEs) differ in their involvement in environmental innovation, depending on the strength of the MNEs domestic environmental institutions. The results confirm the influence of home institutions on environmental innovation at the subsidiary level, as well as the moderating effects of the way in which the subsidiary is set up and the experience of the host.
