Abstract:
The study is devoted to the consideration of the features of conducting parochial registration of the population and maintaining business and accounting records in comparison with the methods of state accounting in Russia in the relevant areas. The study of the features of church accounting provides a wide field for studying the professional employment of the population, demographic dynamics in various regions, and studying family history and law. Multiple studies of church metric books, monastic daily routines and other forms of traditional church documentation from various regions of Russia are used, the historical features of their maintenance and the use of this information by Russian state bodies in different eras are used. The work concentrates on the late fully formed form of church accounting of the 18th - 20th centuries, which in its main features remained unchanged until the beginning of the 20th century.
