Abstract:
The paper examines the impact of governance arrangements (board size, board independence, duality, sharia board size, sharia board meetings, and ownership concentration) on the performance of insurance companies under various Muamala contracts (waqala and hybrid) moderated by senior management service duration. The results show that the larger the size of the board of directors and the larger the number of outside directors, the higher the effectiveness of SEA takaful waqala insurance.
