Abstract:
The article provides an in-depth study of the response of a multinational insurance group to a disruptive digital innovation: the emergence of online general insurance aggregator platforms between 2002 and 2007. The results show how this design allows an organization to test and adaptively switch between different strategic responses to disruptive innovations, especially in the face of high uncertainty and ambiguity.
