Abstract:
The article analyzes the supply of public and private venture capital in the regions of the Netherlands, which reveals many reasons for government intervention in the regional economy. The findings enrich the analysis of regional government intervention and challenge the rhetoric that regional policies aimed at developing venture capital markets are carried out solely to address market failures.
