Abstract:
The article studies the concepts of communitarian and popular communication in the context of the experience of communitarian development of rural areas. The results show that the communication processes rooted in the contexts of social movements outlined in this reflection are consistent with participatory development practice, allowing for a departure from the traditional view of communication for development and consolidating the epistemology associated with peoples communication.
