Abstract:
The study compared 108 official statements issued by organizations in the US and South Korea when cybersecurity breaches threatened the reputation of various corporations. The results show that the features of official statements differ by cultural dimension (individualism vs. collectivism, low vs. high power distance) and communication style (low-context vs. high-context communication).
