Abstract:
The article examines the extent to which the regional system of higher education (HE) influences the placement of foreign research and development (R&D). The results show that the likelihood of a foreign research institution being located in a region is positively affected by the strength of HES regional missions and in particular the quality of its scientific research, while its research capacity and knowledge transfer activities do not seem to play a role. significant role.
