Abstract:
The aim of this article is to study the effectiveness of low emission zones (LEZ) and compare it with the results available in the literature on the efficiency of city charges. The results show that LEZs can contain pollution. They are particularly effective in heavily polluted cities when applied over a wide area of the city and/or when they are strict on the type of restricted vehicles.
