Abstract:
This article presents preliminary results from a pilot study that examined the walking environment and daily walking practices in an informal settlement in Freetown, Sierra Leone using web mapping and a qualitative questionnaire. The results show that walking remains the predominant mode of transportation in the community, mainly due to the topography and poor infrastructure.
