Abstract:
Non-agricultural informal enterprises make up the bulk of the distribution of firms in developing countries. The results show that informal enterprises exhibit an entry and exit rate of approximately 14–18% per year. Entry and exit rates are similar and highly correlated at a point in time, across industries and regions.
