Abstract:
The commercialization of publicly funded research has been widely discussed in the academic literature since the introduction of the Bayh-Dole Act in the 1980s. The results show that by allowing for more flexibility and experimenting with funding, universities could develop an entrepreneurial culture and address other weaknesses and commercialize their research more successfully.
