Abstract:
The article examines whether it is optimal to turn to sources of information that are biased against or contrary to previous beliefs. An analysis of the questions of the post-experimental survey suggests that the subjects follow these rules due to fundamental errors in reasoning about the relative informativeness of biased sources of information.
