Abstract:
The article addresses the problem of pricing a platform that matches dissimilar agents using conditional matching fees. The results show that the platform should not shift its price distribution in either direction. With independently composed preferences, optimal price allocation decisions do not depend on market size or imbalance; moreover, changes in the optimal price level move the prices of both sides in the same direction.
