Abstract:
The article compares labor market flows between the developing economy, Colombia, and the developed economy, the United States (USA). The results show that labor market turnover in the US labor market is significantly higher than in Colombia, and that the turnover rate in the American market is twice that of the Colombian one. It is also concluded from the results that this gap in fluidity between the two economies can be explained, inter alia, by the rigid nature of Colombian labor market institutions.
