Abstract:
The article developed a model that generates an increase in average leisure time and an increase in inequality in leisure time towards balanced growth. The results show that households derive utility from three sources: market goods, household goods, and leisure. Households devote time and capital to these non-market activities and offer labor. The dynamics are determined by the growth of TFP for specific types of activities and the spread in the distribution of labor market efficiency for specific households.
