Abstract:
This article presents a negative binomial zero-blowup model to determine the determinants of the likelihood and frequency of attendance at live performances in mainland China. Data compiled from a personal, nationwide sample survey (N = 12,262) conducted in mainland China from January to March 20XX. Age, occupation, income, educational attainment, art courses, individual preferences, and learning outcomes obtained turn out to be important determinants of the likelihood and frequency of attendance. Gender, amateur cultural events and the media determine the frequency, but not the likelihood of a visit, while, conversely, interest influences the likelihood, but not the frequency. The influence of marital status is negligible.
