Abstract:
The article focuses on a sample in which relative others are especially important - for Olympic athletes - and examines relative achievements using a different currency - medals. While previous research suggests that bronze medalists are happier than silver medalists, we dont see any difference unless there is a relatively close race at the bottom of the podium in the competition between silver, bronze and fourth.
