Abstract:
This article presents a new understanding based on an assessment of existing filtering methods for MRIO tables. Six filtering methods from the prevailing literature are identified as relevant and tested in the published MRIO tables: EORA26 and EXIOBASE. The evaluation shows that the Tolerance approach and the filter based on the Weaver-Thomas index are the most stringent.
