Abstract:
The article analyzes the structural and technical changes in Spain since the 1980s using annual input and output tables. The results show that the growth of the Spanish economy in recent decades has been a combination of technological modernization and overall economic growth, albeit with some heterogeneity between sectors over time. High-tech services played a key role in modernization in the late 1980s and 1990s.
