Abstract:
The article analyzes possible approaches to improving the efficiency of public funds allocation, some of which are used in different countries. A new pragmatic approach is proposed that includes a common descriptive framework for the proportionate measurement of disparate public sector performance. Discrete choice experiments can be used to provide evidence of the relative importance attributed to various aspects of public sector performance by the general public.
