Abstract:
The article explores the role of portfolio similarity in asset liquidation in the insurance industry. The results show that insurers with more similar portfolios have higher overall follow-up sales. Faced with a shock to assets or liabilities, unprotected insurers with greater portfolio similarity have larger overall sales that affect prices.
