Abstract:
The article examines the effectiveness of the use of executive remuneration associated with corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals in US companies. An empirical analysis of a cross-industry sample of 746 listed companies over the period 20XX - 20XX showed that the use of CSR-related compensation contracts for Named Executive Directors (NEO) improves the efficiency of CSR. Specifically, linking NEOs remuneration to CSR targets was found to have a positive effect in the third year after adoption.
