Abstract:
The article analyzes the role of reminders on the formation of behavior aimed at protecting the environment. The research methodology is based on natural field experiment. The participants in the experiment were clients of the Swiss Agricultural Association, which delivers weekly boxes of vegetables in plastic bags. Customers received weekly reminders to return plastic bags for reuse. The results indicate that customers are more likely to return plastic bags with a closing reminder sticker that grabs attention during the desired behavior change.
